עיריתא

עִירִיתָא, עִירְיְתָא, עִירְיְי׳, עִירְיָא, עִירְיָיא, עֶרְ׳f. = h. עֶרְוָה, עֶרְיָה, nakedness, shame. Targ. Ex. 28:42. Targ. O. Gen. 9:22, sq. עִירִי׳ ed. Berl. (oth. ed. a. Y. עֶרְיְ׳). Targ. O. Lev. 18:7 עִירְיַת ed. Berl. (oth. ed. a. Y. עֶרְ׳); a. v. fr.Y.Meg.IV, 75c (expl. המכנה בעריות, Mish. ib. IV, 9) בעריי׳ דאבוי ובע׳ דאימיה he who modifies the text speaking of the nakedness of ones father or mother (Lev. 18:7, by translating ‘weakness or ‘disgrace; v. Bab. ib. 25a), v. כָּנָה.
